Supervision Training for Counselors and Therapists
Besides guidance and feedback for supervisee, supervision training also aims to help the counselors to develop abilities and improve their skills as a practicing counselor and therapist. They will be able to closely examine their behaviors, feelings and attitudes towards the clients and their experiences. Supervision also helps protect the clients because the practitioners learn to practice professionalism at its best and to uphold ethical work approaches all the time. But the primary value of supervision is to provide a safe and supportive environment for the supervisees. During the training, the supervisor and supervisee learn how to collaborate and build a relationship that will be helpful to the therapeutic process for clients. It is a form of mentoring that benefits the supervisees as well as the clients. But ultimately, the goal of supervision is to enable the counselors and therapists to improve their service to their clients while also enhancing their well-being during the whole process.
